Crowns & Bridgework

Dental bridgework involves the creation of a false tooth to replace a missing tooth (pontic). Types of dental bridgework include fixed bridged, resin bonded bridge, and cantilever bridge. Two crowns hold a pontic in place. Unlike some partial dentures, this fixed dental bridgework cannot be removed by the wearer and is fixed into the mouth.

The fabrication of a crown or bridgework takes two appointments. On the initial appointment, all necessary preparations will be made to the tooth or teeth, and an impression will be taken in order to make customized crown/bridge. The crown/bridge will be made to match the neighboring teeth (i.e. same shade, similiar size and shape). You will leave our office with a temporary crown/bridge. On your second appointment, your temporary crown will be removed and the permanent crown/bridge will be placed.
