Prevention
Your best defenses: brushing, flossing, and using a fluoride rinse. Get serious about flossing and make sure you have a soft bristle brush, an oscillating or sonic electric brush which have been proven to be more effective than manual brushes. (We offer a great one in our office! Please ask a staff member.)
It is important to have frequent dental exams, preferably once every six months. X-rays are
recommended at these appointments to detect dental problems that are not seen with an oral exam.
Our x-ray machines and electronic controls are constantly monitored and inspected for your safety.
Frequent exams can also aid in the detection of oral cancer. During the exam the Dr. Khanh will check
the tissues of your mouth for anything that is abnormal. If anything is found, further testing including a
biopsy will be done.
Dry could also cause problems since saliva is antibacterial, acid neutralizing, and full of minerals that
strengthen enamel. To prevent dry mouth, chew or suck on sugar free candy or gum, especially those
with xylitol which help fight tooth decay.
Dr. Khanh and his friendly staff invite you to make an appointment and enjoy the benefits of a healthy,
beautiful smile.
